Because I’ve had one or two people ask about my ~process.~ I’ll post a clearer step-by-step eventually, maybe for the next bit of drawings.
Thumbnails from the Plan. Lots of obscene little stick people. Quite a few almost-ran drawings, and I had to switch up a couple when they were practically finished because I remembered I had been drawing Wheatley right-handed (lol nobody would even notice but me). A lot of them are pretty similar drawings, sometimes with me figuring out the pose, sometimes with me figuring out the expression. I like to try to get a lot of that worked out in these messy quick drawings before I start in on what will be a finished picture.
When I have trouble with a part of a drawing but I like most of it overall, I copy-paste it and experiment with different things making variants, usually tweaking the expression or a little bit of the pose, and sometimes I change my mind and go with the first drawing after all. Because they are frequently practically finished pieces but wrong I sometimes feel weird showing variants, partly because it’s just not the way I want it to look and partly because I worry people will disagree with my taste and prefer one of the drawings I didn’t pick. But anyway for example here’s a couple variants I did of one bit where I kept, um, upping the intensity of the expression and um, looking at them when I was done I thought it makes for a nice uhhhh sequence… of stuff…
