PFffff, I love it! Adorable doodle, such a great look on his face. I can’t help but feel like he would be really territorial and aggressive about chocolate cake. Fruit and other stuff he could share, but cake… cake would be something else entirely. (I just hope he doesn’t eat the candle.)

Aaahh!! Thank you so much for this! I absolutely love it. Finally, an occasion on which all three of them get sloppy drunk! It’s quite a nice change from all that running-for-one’s-life and messing-with-people’s-heads stuff. Have to take a break sometime, you know?
I always enjoy seeing your art, especially your take on these guys. Wheatley’s face is really peaceful and sweet here, and I’m willing to admit that I’m fairly enchanted by that gut (and the confetti on top and all around—the ‘good stuff,’ I presume?) I love that he fills the couch and then some. And Chell is so comfy and happy all squished under his legs, what an adorable expression on her face! And GLaDOS, ever the proper lady, has finally reached the point where she ends up straddling a sofa. (It was probably either that or figure out some way to crash and sleep near, on, or under the couch hog—she made a good choice.) What a happy and goofy bunch of people, setting aside their considerable differences to get their party on!

This is a really sweet and poignant piece of fanart for Daisy sent to me by vulcanchicks. I already told her, but I love how young and sad Doug looks here, and the dazed/sleepy look on Wheatley’s face is just breaking my heart in the best way. The way their eyes are meeting as Doug holds him, I feel like I’m intruding into a really personal moment that I shouldn’t be witness to.

All silliness aside, you’ve inspired me so much and have been such a positive force in my life these past few months. You made me rediscover the joy of feeling pride in my work, reawakened my drive to want to improve, given me such a rare and wonderful artistic opportunity to make visible a story I enjoy. Your support and encouragement has meant so much, drawing pictures for you has been so fulfilling. I have so much love and gratitude for you and the best way I can express those things is through trying to make you smile with my drawings. Thank you.

I know I’ve said it before, but I’m so glad I started writing The Punishment because it led me to meet you. You’ve been such an amazing and supportive friend, and it’s been an indescribable experience watching you bring my words to life. You deserve to feel pride in your work, and knowing that I’ve helped you in any capacity is a greater gift than any drawing ever could be.
That being said, oh my god, this. This is completely ridiculously precious. And hilarious. I’ve been trying to write words about it for half an hour now but I just keep ending up sitting and staring at the pictures instead of making words so here goes, I’m just gonna do it (no “read more” is available to me, so everyone else can just deal!):
In the first, Chell is so lovely and dainty even as she is acting totally unladylike with her hands there, and I just love Wheatley’s smile. The way you draw his expressions is always so genuine and open, it makes me feel silly fuzzy things inside.
Speaking of feeling silly fuzzy things, I’m kind of overwhelmed by them every time I look at the second picture. Which I have many, many times already. He just looks so playful and happy as Chell enacts her own slightly less innocent version of this move.
I don’t know how you do it, and I know I’ve said all this before too, but they just look so solid when you draw them. Especially his torso which is the second most endearing thing about this picture after his face. Their characteristic size differences (oh gosh, his hand holding her arm) being the third. And Chell’s concentration tongue… I wonder if she does that for her extended periods of contemplation too?

Aaand I nearly choked with laughter when I first saw poor middle distance-gazing GLaDOS at the end. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE IT MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE, LADY. Her expression and clenching fists of disgust crack me up.

Cue my “I can’t believe you REMEMBERED!” about the mention of WheatDOS, haha! This is so fantastic. It looks like a nightmare (in a good way, of course). Gosh, that lipbite-lipcurl is really something special. He’s so scrawny and helpless, and GLaDOS… gurl. That is even more inappropriate touching than you’ve already given him! I love the way her dress is starting to slip and her hair looks so soft and ooh, that spooky glow from her eyes. This is just everything wrong rolled up into something right!

Happy (belated) birthday Wurm! To commemorate the glorious anniversary of your existence I finally buckled down and drew you some Punishment fanart! Many apologies to Rubit for shamelessly ripping off ahem borrowing her Wheatley design.
I always thought the little moment where Chell stretches and catches Wheatley staring was hysterical. Geez Wheats, didn’t anyone teach you that that sort of thing is rude? (I do apologize for the poor quality of the scan however).
Also, I recalled a conversation where it was discussed how The Punishment would have played out with the genderbent versions of the characters, so I doodled up this little concept for Punishment!Whitney here:
The moment of realization in the mirror: “I’M A BLOODY HUMAN!!” I thought it would be funny for this version of human!Whitney to be as unusually tiny and as Wheatley is unusually tall, thus she is swimming in her jumpsuit there.
I really admire you as a writer; you are so hard-working when it comes to it, and what winds up on the page is so wonderful. You are just so adept at capturing emotion and character and bending words to your will… And on top of all that you are an incredibly kind, funny, and caring person, and I am so glad to know you and to count you as a friend.

Aww, Lacey, these really turned out great! I love your take on the stretching scene. His expression… he just looks so curious, haha! I can see the wheels turning in his head: “She’s doing more things without any clothes on. I should pay attention now in case she puts her clothes back on later.” And Chell’s scrunchy stretchy face is so cute too! It’s nice to see the two of them just peaceful and existing together. Such a warm and comfortable, domestic scene, even if Wheatley’s staring impolitely.
And aahh, I love that little girl-Wheatley (Whitney?) concept too! So cute. Of course GLaDOS would still just throw her in the same jumpsuit and let her just deal with it….

This is great, with the dramatic composition it looks like it could be a promo or a book cover or something! I always enjoy the way you draw my Wheatley looking so sad and unfortunate… maybe it’s a little sadistic, but it just works out so well for his character. His expression here is so worried and hopeless, and poor Chell down there has no idea what’s going on! (Also, I’d like to unabashedly register my appreciation for that totally adorable gut of his.)
And damn GLaDOS, you scary! I love her predatory little grin and the fact that she’s really the only ‘person’ looking at all happy in this. As terrifying as she is, though, she really is pretty!
