G: Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it

Oh. Oh gosh. Do I even? I’m not sure if I… hmm. I’ve never been too much of a shipper, more of a “toss a few people together and make them make sweet, sweet love” sort of person.

Alright, when I was very young and very impressionable, I read a fair bit of horrific ZADR fic. (I have a feeling you know what I’m talking about.)

Then uhh… maybe also Kurt/Rogue from X-Men: Evolution. I don’t think I read or wrote anything, but I just had the feeling. She could really use some adorable fuzzy blue elf in her life.

Turned on Pandora, it was set to the “Oingo Boingo” station (no surprise) and it gave me Oingo Boingo’s “Home Again” and while I am overly capable of falling into the “EVERYTHING IS PORTAL” mentality, this actually really fits pretty well for some sort of somber, less than happy post-Portal-2-Chelley something or another. Might remind me slightly of Day by Day, but that depends on the direction you take with the story.

Z: Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go

I’ve never experienced such emotional highs and lows as I have since I entered the Portal fandom. It’s actually pretty ridiculous how wonderful and how terrible I’ve felt at times. I haven’t ever opened myself up this much to anyone over the internet, or honestly in ‘real life,’ and in doing so I’ve been lucky enough to find some pretty amazing friends. People I look up to and depend on and really care about now, people I might not have ever met if I hadn’t started writing weird stuff and sharing it on the internet.
I’m glad for the Portal fandom for plenty of reasons, not least of which has been reawakening my passion for writing and driving me to push myself creatively after years of stagnation. But more than all that, I’m thankful that it has allowed me to meet some of the most inspiring, friendly, productive, and creative people I’ve ever met.
