(Thanks for asking! Answering for Portal 2 because it has characters in it…)

1. The first character I first fell in love with

The Announcer. Wheatley was cute and funny and all, but I didn’t really get weird about how much I liked him til I spent a little more time with him. I was so sad that the Announcer didn’t have more of a role later on in the game, even if he was more of a voice than a character!

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now

GLaDOS, definitely. They really ramped up her passive-aggressive pettiness for Portal and then seeing the way she reacted to being totally helpless… having that quality time with her gave me a lot more appreciation for her character.

Doug too. I love the poor guy. He’s such a compelling character despite being in so little of the game/comic.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t

I wouldn’t say that “everyone else” loves them, but I’m only mildly interested in the other cores. Because of how little development they get, I’ve never really seen them as characters—though I know the same could easily be said of Chell, so that’s a little hypocritical of me to say. They do have some great fanart and humanizations, though!

4. The character I love that everyone else hates

I don’t think there’s a character the Portal fandom hates.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer

And there’s no way I could stop loving any of these characters…

6. The character I would totally smooch

Not Chell, she would hurt me. Wheatley might be a safe bet if he doesn’t wiggle around and cut my face open. Cave would be fun because, well, Cave, and Caroline too… Maybe a crap turret to make it feel better for shootin’ blanks.

Noncanonical characters, pretty much everybody’s humanized/android Wheatlies. Though I think I know whose I’d pick first.

7. The character I’d want to be like

Chell. I am not usually the type to persevere, so that’d be nice.

8. The character I’d slap

Cave seems like he needed a slap at some point in his life, and Wheatley only if he’s not a core because I don’t want to break my hand.

9. A pairing that I love

WheatDOS because robots who hate each other

Chelley because abububu

10. A pairing that I despise

I don’t really despise any Portal pairings. I guess it’d feel weird to see the Space core shipped with someone, since (at least in the English version) he seems so young.
